I dig Rex Ray's work. He has a few great books out, which you can find here and here and a splendid set of his note cards are coming out soon, which you can find here.
Since I am a graphic designer, I enjoy product packaging to the extent that I will go out of my way to reward companies (through my purchases) who focus their energy on beautiful product design. A happy delight of mine, is when I find items where beautiful packaging design and excellent products coincide. Recently, I found that to be true in baby food of all things. I came across Homemade Baby a few days ago and a large smile came across my face, especially with it being on sale at my local super target. They have great choices such as piwi (pears + kiwi), squapples (squash + apples) and a baby tex-mex meal all good ones that Vienna is really digging. It makes it nice when I don't have time to mush down my own produce, to know that this is the next best thing. Thanks Homemade Baby!
The lovely Anne from Anne Kiel Jewelry emailed me about her fabulous line of wearable art. Check out this beauty! Wouldn't that necklace be a statement piece for anything you wear? I think it definitely would be a conversation starter. She has other great curios here.
I am inspired by these kite dangling shots by french photographer Nicolas Chorier. He puts a camera on a kite to get such a glorious perspectives. via serif.
These luscious fall color combinations from the Coach catalog are fabulous. It is great to see a company go in another direction besides ultra neutrals and black (although I do love them). Wouldn't it be fun to pair colorful accessories with your current wardrobe to spice it up a bit, to give it some extra sauce?
I love discovering new musical talent. Like I have mentioned before, I would love to hear your suggestions of what music/artists inspire you. Drop me a line (blackeiffel@gmail.com) or comment below. Anyways... just the other day, I came across a new artist that I really enjoy!! William Fitzsimmons, is my new favorite voice of the hour, his voice is extremely soothing and acoustic. I cannot believe that I haven't heard of him before, be sure to check out his myspace page. (ps. the video may be a little raw)
My bro. introduced me to John Vanderslice, and I have been a fan for a little while now. Not your average mainstream music, his stuff is both artistic, unique and inspirational. This is a recent new video called Trance Manual.
Two of my favorite folk singer/songwriters of the moment. Wait, do I say that every week? Well... here is Ray LaMontagne and Damien Rice playing an awesome duet, "To Love Somebody" together. (Ray has the longer beard) Check out their other incredible jams.
I enjoy these designs by Emil Kozak. He is amazing. Almost makes me want to learn how to skateboard, so I could learn on that cool skateboard, well almost.
What do all of these photos have in common? They were all taken last weekend at the Puyallup Fair, Western Washington's biggest fair. We happened to be there on a super busy day, crowd breaking - hundreds of thousands! I have yet to go to another fair that compares to this. For more of my photos go here.
I am loving the photos that Jordan has been sharing of her San Francisco Apartment, that girl has got some mad style and skills. I am constantly inspired by her at Oh Happy Day and I am excited to see her Flood Street Press + shop coming soon.
I first saw Sharon Brunsher's work in a shop in Park City. I thought her little books were very chic and well done. I recently came across her fleece booties and my, do they look cozy.
